Dunga shrugs off rivalry with Maradona

Brazil coach Dunga insists that their rivalry to play with Argentina coach Maradona will not affect World Cup qualifier on Saturday the Cup among the giants of South America.

Dunga and Diego Maradona

Both players captain their countries to win the World Cup and also played against each other in the 1990 World Cup, but this weekend marks his first match as coach.

"Each of us had our history as a player and now we are taking steps as coaches," Dunga said in a press conference Wednesday.

As players, the couple could not have been different. Dunga was a defensive midfielder, while Maradona was a creative forward, but the Brazilian said he was also irrelevant.

"Football with 11 Maradonas not going to work, with 11 Dungas football would not work," said Dunga. "Each has its characteristics and mode of being, totally different from the other.

"I'm not worried about others, I worry about the Brazilian national team."...[source]
