Milito blow for Argentina

Milito of Inter controls the ball during the Beijing 2009 Supercup match between Inter Milan and Lazio at Birds Nest on August 8, 2009 in Beijing, China.

Argentina striker Diego Milito is set to miss the World Cup qualifiers against Peru and Uruguay.

The Inter Milan player suffered a muscle strain in his right thigh during Saturday's 2-1 win over Udinese.

A statement from Inter read: "The Argentina striker has suffered a first degree strain in his right thigh.

"The club's medical staff has sent the necessary documents to the Argentina Federation in view of the next World Cup qualifiers."

Milito, who joined Inter from Genoa this summer and is the Nerazzurri's top scorer with five goals, could be sidelined for at least a month.

His absence is a blow for Inter and Argentina.

The Albiceleste go into Saturday's qualifier in Buenos Aires on a run of four defeats in the last five games, and currently lie in the play-off position in the South American zone...[source]
