FIFA Concludes Successful Inspection Tour Of 2010 Stadiums

An intense inspection of South Africa's stadiums has been completed, and the signs look positive...





A delegation of 50 members of the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa (OC) and FIFA successfully completed an inspection of the five stages of new construction and the Soccer City stadium to date.

After traveling 4,000 kilometers in six cities in six days to run the rule over the new stadiums, the experts concluded that the operational preparations are underway for all stadiums to be completed by the end of the year.

"This has been a very successful inspection visit for us. Where once you had to see the walls and seats, which have now been able to walk freely in the stadium as it will be during the tournament," said the head of the CO delegation, the head of Derek Blanckensee official competitions in a press release...[source]
