World Cup 2010: Mexico-Argentina Predictions Goal.com's Mexico staff break down and give their thoughts on Mexico-Argentina.

Mexico and Argentina will meet in the Round of 16 once more. Here's how Goal.com's Mexico staff looks at the match.

Andrea Martinez

How much progress did Mexico show in the group stage?

Mexico has shown much progress going through the group stage. The team seemed to go through an ascent during the first two games, although it took a dip against Uruguay. Though Aguirre may not be keen on lining them up, the best players and substitutes were clearly defined in these games. Also, the availability of one the most important members of the team, Efrain Juarez, for the upcoming match Mexico can get back to how they were performing and hopefully continue on the incline.

What must improve?

Several things must improve before the game on Sunday, but one of the most important things is to not leave too many spaces. Previous teams did not fully take advantage of this against Mexico, but Argentina’s offense takes full advantage of things like these so it will be something that Mexico has to watch.

What does Mexico have going for them against Argentina?

Like Rafael Marquez mentioned in his press conference, one of Argentina’s weaknesses is their defense. Like in many of their other games, one of Mexico’s biggest advantages is their speed. All of the attention when watching Argentina may focus on their players up top and their individualities, but defensively they’re not that strong. They only let in one goal during the group stages, but they weren’t tested in the same way that Mexico might test them on Sunday. Mexico also has a good mix of players that were there for the 2006 loss, and players that were not; the older players can try and play for that revenge(no matter how much they may say it’s not revenge) and those that have a clean slate to make history against Argentina.

What is Mexico's biggest weakness heading into Sunday?

Argentina’s main attraction is Lionel Messi, and Mexico’s biggest weakness is seeming to focus too much on just that one player. Some of the focus is justifiable; he is one of the best players in the world. But, focusing just on Messi will kill Mexico. He’s shown that he can take on the markings of more than one player at a time, but all resources should not be wasted on him. If Messi is not the one making the goals or giving the passes, there are several other players on the team that can do that as well; just ask Gonzalo Higuain.
Port Elizabeth South Africa - Africa still has the representation of its first World Cup victory thanks to Ghana during overtime of the United States.

United States Ghana is familiar with, of course, after losing the 2006 World Cup Black Stars. This defeat ended the U.S. involvement in the World Cup and, although four years ago has reached the group stage.

Essien who? Kevin-Prince Boateng has admirably filled the Chelsea man. In the U.S., Boateng scored his first international goal. After Ricardo Clark dropped the ball on the midline, Boateng appeared in American environment.

Riding challenges, pushed the box. He sent a low shot that beat Howard Tim next post. The energy and pace and determination combined to put the U.S. under pressure again at the beginning.

Performance Day

Luis Suarez took a bit of criticism for not scoring before the game in the third group. Not received any negative reaction after his performance against South Korea, however.

Ajax striker did exactly what a striker needs to do - score goals. First, Suarez took an embarrassing error to start in goal to score the match. It was a simple definition, but in a tight angle.

Then, after South Korea and dynamic stabilization has been removed from Uruguay, Suárez always a goal kick very nice and gently pushing your brand and curled the ball into the post.

Three goals in two games is higher Suarez joint letters from the World Cup goal.

World Cup 2010: Africa Prevails As Ghana Hands USA Devastating Loss

Rustenburg, South Africa - Africa World Cup is his mistress, and has affected the United States.

For a cold night at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium, the Americans fell 2-1 to the courtesy of the Black Stars' goal-93rd minute Asamoah Gyan. Ghana sent the Red Cross, white and blue at home for the tournament for the second consecutive year, keeping hopes of the continent home.

If the winning side was eager to run, did not show their performance.

"We fought for the continent. We are fighting for Ghana," said Andre Ayew after accepting the trophy man of the match. "Today, everyone is proud and we are ready for the next round. I hope we made a lot of Ghanaians happier. "

Africa is the conclusion, but the United States goes home disappointed. They gave an early goal for the third time in four games that Kevin-Prince Boateng had only the fifth minute. Unlike previous games however, the team began with an energy firm and recognized after Ricardo Clark gave the ball to midfield.
